1971 – Byers Engineering Co. (BECO) is formed to focus on providing engineering services for telecom companies and utilities.
1998 - The utility locate services division of BECO is spun off and UtiliQuest is formed.
1998 - UtiliQuest announces the acquisition of the utility locating division of Denver based Kelly Cable Corporation, giving UtiliQuest an expanded national presence.
2002 – UtiliQuest acquires Underground Technology Incorporated (UTI) headquartered in Ventura, CA.
2003 - Dycom Industries, Inc. announces the acquisition of UtiliQuest. The acquisition gives UtiliQuest the ability to partner with STS, LLC and Locating Inc. thus creating a damage prevention organization of significant size and strength.
